Welcome to the new old site. Yes, we could maintain the old one with the forum but no one stepped forward to help. So here we are back at the basic web site.
At our next meeting we will be discussing more tools that are available for making games. Specifically we will be talking about Java Applets and the Ducks Vs. Hunters Java game that Patrick created for the club.
We are in the process of giving WSU one more chance to come through on accepting our business card design. If they fail to accept the two new versions I have created we will be going elsewhere.
I need help. If anyone wants to send e-mails to game companies on behalf the GDC that would be useful. Since I'm currently under the weather I'll be writing quite a few tomorrow. I've also sent an e-mail to Dr. Buchanan of EA games to see if he can point me toward someone who would be able to arrange a tour of the Vancouver facilities.

Our last few meetings have been met with low attendence. So not much was accomplished. We have moved our meetings to the second and fourth Thursdays of the month and we have moved to a different room. We hope that this clears up any schedule conflicts.
We discussed the visit of John Buchanan from EA games but he managed to flake out on us twice. So Keith has pushed his visit back until February. More on this will be revealed when things are ironed out. As it stands right now we may go with someone else. Interest in having Chris Hund Hausen, who teaches Human Computer Interfaces on the main campus, and Anne Schulz come and speak was expressed.
We are also looking into other companies to visit for our next trip. Interest in Cyan, Valve, and companies located in Portland, Spokane, the Seattle area, and Vancouver was expressed. The next trip will probably be near the end of this semester or some time near the beginning of the spring semester.
We also discussed the project but not much was accomplished other than Keith and Bryan are looking into two possible engines (Unreal and Dungeon Seige). We also got a piece of rough ccncept art drawn by our resident artist Irvin. He will be coming up with more concept art for the next meeting.
Our next meeting will be:
Date: Thursday, November 13th
Time: 7:30pm
Place: WSU TC Campus, Richland, East 212
We will also be discussing the project in detail as we need to get several things nailed down pretty quick.
We hope to see all of you there and maybe even some new members! Who knows. Oh yeah, liquid refreshments will be served.
- Also, we will try to set up a LAN party in January as part of our Spring semester kick off.

Our last meeting was met with low attendence. So not much was accomplished, but most of our membership had two mid terms to study for, both of which were being held the next day.
Bryan Gerber, our Vice President, showed off his soccer game which looked pretty good. It had only one player per team but players could collect socccer balls which gave them ammo. With ammo the players could then fire the soccer ball (kick it), otherwise the ball moved with the player. The visuals were pretty good too.
We also discussed the project but not much was accomplished.
Our next meeting will be:
Date: Monday, October 27th
Time: 7:30pm
Place: WSU TC Campus, Richland, East 220
We may or may not have a guest speaker from EA Games. Time will tell on that one, stuff happens.

Welcome back to school! It's been a long summer. We are about to swing into full gear here.
We have made contact with two game developers in the Seattle area willing to give us a tour.
Now it's a matter of finding a good day to do it. Right now keep mid October clear! We also
have a guest speaker in the lineup. More on this later when things are finalized. I know you will
want to keep a block of time open for this speaker. In the mean time we have our first official meeting
in the coming weeks. Look for the new flyer
already out and about in the school.
Date: Monday, September 8th
Time: 7:30pm
Place: East 220
I hope to see a bunch of you there! Oh yeah, refreshments will be served.

Welcome to the end of the semester. Time for some more enjoyable activities. We have our budget and
now are working on getting guest speakers to come and speak on their chosen field of game development.
Also planned for next year is a trip over to Seattle to view some real game developers in action.
And hopefully that doesn't mean watching them play Quake III for an hour. Check back later for more
information regarding that. In the mean time, enjoy the summer.
5.4.2003 Added a few more links to the links page.
Also changed the front page, as you might have seen, to give more space to news.
Would also like to say good luck to everybody on their finals this coming week. Also, be
sure to check my home page to find
out some news regarding the Gaming Industry as a whole in the state of Washington.
4.21.2003 The Game Development Club Web page gets to the Internet. Look for more updates in the
near future. Also our first official flyer which will be out and about can
be viewed online.
